Three men are under arrest following an alleged robbery and car accident in Manhattan.

Shortly before 3:30 a.m. Saturday, police were called to Fifth Avenue in East Harlem.

They say two men used guns to threaten a group of five people, stealing their cell phones and money, before jumping into a Nissan Altima and fleeing.

An NYPD sergeant responding to another incident on Lexington Avenue saw the car driving the wrong way.

Police say when he ordered the driver to stop, one of the suspects pointed a gun at him.

The sergeant fired his own weapon but missed, according to police.

Police say the Nissan then turned the wrong way onto East 115th Street, where it crashed into another car near Second Avenue.

Three suspects, including the driver, were arrested. There is no word yet on what charges they may face.

The passengers in the second car were taken to St. Luke's Hospital, where they were treated for minor injuries and released.
