A defense lawyer entered not-guilty pleas Wednesday on behalf of a Manhattan nanny accused of stabbing and killing two Upper West Side children in her care.

Yoselyn Ortega, 50, was arraigned Wednesday at her hospital bed in NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center as she recovered from self-inflicted stab wounds.

Ortega faces first and second-degree murder charges in the deaths of 6-year-old Lucia "Lulu" Krim and her 2-year-old brother, Leo Krim.

The children were found in the bathtub by their mother at their Upper West Side home on October 25.

Defense attorney Valerie Van Leer-Greenberg said Ortega is "profoundly, medically impaired and in need of medical attention."

Ortega, who is undergoing a psychiatric exam, was ordered by the judge to be held without bail.

She faces a minimum of 25 years to life in prison if convicted. She is due back in court on January 16.
