A settlement could be in the works in a city hotel maid's sexual assault lawsuit against the former head of the International Monetary Fund.

Lawyers for the housekeeper and Dominique Strauss-Kahn are meeting in a Bronx courtroom on Monday to update a judge on the status of settlement discussions.

The maid is expected to be there but Strauss-Kahn isn't expected to attend.

The maid said Strauss-Kahn sexually attacked her in his suite in May of last year.

He said their encounter was consensual.

The alleged incident forced Strauss-Kahn's resignation from the IMF and ended his potential candidacy for the French presidency.

Prosecutors later dropped a criminal case against him, saying the accuser had credibility problems.
