Gas Smell Forces Partial Evacuation Of Port Authority Bus Terminal

The Port Authority Bus Terminal in Midtown is back open after being evacuated Wednesday morning after reports of a strong smell of gas in the facility.

Firefighters were called to the building on Eighth Avenue shortly before 8:30 a.m.

Buses were being directed to drop off passengers on 10th Avenue as crews investigated the smell.

The all-clear came around 9 a.m.

No serious problem was found.
