Celebrities and local lawmakers came together in Lower Manhattan on Sunday to urge children to eat their vegetables.

The nutrition education media company Super Sprowtz put on its Veggielicious Puppet Show for hundreds of parents and children at Century 21 Downtown.

Attendees learned the importance of a healthy diet from some vegetable super heroes, as well as former athletes Shaquille O'Neal and Darryl Strawberry and Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver.

A portion of all proceeds from the sale of children's department merchandise during the event was marked to donation to Food Bank For New York City and the local Food Bank chapter.
