NEW YORK - Two men suffered minor injuries Thursday morning after an escalator malfunctioned inside the World Trade Center Transportation Hub in Lower Manhattan.

According to the Port Authority, several of the stair treads buckled around 7 a.m. inside the Oculus.

The two men injured were the only ones riding the escalator at the time.

Officials say they were able to walk to an ambulance and were taken to New York Downtown Hospital for evaluation.

PA officials confirm it is the same escalator where a woman fell to her death back on February 11 while trying to retrieve a hat.

Officials say the escalator has been shut down.

Travelers who enter the Hub from the Greenwich Street entrance are able to use an adjacent escalator to access the lower levels of the Oculus.

An investigation is ongoing.
