Hip-hop fans are mourning the death of Queens rapper Prodigy.

Prodigy, whose real name is Albert Johnson, made up one-half of the popular rap duo Mobb Deep.

His publicist says the rapper was recently hospitalized in Las Vegas for complications related to sickle cell anemia, but the exact cause of death is still unclear.

Combined with fellow Queens rapper Havoc, the duo was best known in the '90s for hits like "Shook Ones," Survival of the Fittest" and "Quiet Storm."

Prodigy was 42.
