Police are investigating after the death of a 70-year-old woman in Brooklyn was ruled a homicide.

Noreen Mulzac was found unconscious and tied by the legs in her bedroom at a home on Flatlands Third Street in Canarsie.

The medical examiner says her cause of death was strangulation.

Police say Mulzac was tied up, beaten and robbed in a separate incident roughly 10 years ago.

Neighbors say one of the people arrested was her son.

They say it's shocking to hear she was targeted again.

"She's a nice, hardworking lady. She gives the clothes off her back if she had it, you know, the money out her pocket all the time to them when you need it. And it's just sad that she died that way," said one neighbor.

"She's always been nice to us, just been great. It's kind of really sad to find out what happened to her," said another.

So far, no arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.
