An NYPD officer is feeling the luck of the Irish after getting engaged during the St. Patrick's Day parade in the city Saturday.

Officer Matthew Kelly proposed to his now-fiancé Victoria Bennett in front of thousands of revelers.

Kelly was marching with the NYPD and had told Bennett where to stand along the route to get the best view. Little did she know, it was all part of his plan to propose.

Kelly stepped off the parade route when he saw Bennet to take a photo with her, and then popped the question.

Bennett said yes, and told NY1 that she had a feeling a proposal was coming but had no idea it would happen during the parade.

The couple met in college while enrolled at SUNY Albany, and have been together for five years.

Officer Kelly is a native-Staten Islander, while Bennett grew up near Poughkeepsie.
