One of Watertown's biggest employers is celebrating it's first year under new ownership.

It's doing so by starting a major round of hiring.

Convergys took over the call center in Watertown that used to be run by Stream.

In this past year, the company has acquired enough new contracts to hire more than 500 people.

The big one is the Health Care Exchange.

Convergys needs about 200 people to handle those calls.

It's offering the jobs to those already licensed as health care agents and if you aren't, you can take all the training you need right on site, and the company will pay for it.

"Being part of a much larger company now, since the acquisition, I think also brings with it more opportunities. That's kind of what we were hoping to see post acquistiion.  We're a year in and it's taken some time for the integration to go through but I think we're starting to see the fruits of our labor with that growth trend starting to happen," says Convergys site director Bryan Black.

As for applying for a job, Convergys says you can do so right on its website, or they host a job screening day each Wednesday.
