The eighth annual Lucky Shops is invading the Highline Stages on West 15th Street this weekend, bringing up to 70 percent off wares from some top designers.
While looking your best may be motivation enough, the fashionable event is for a good cause: This year it will be benefitting the nonprofit Baby Buggy.
"A portion of the proceeds from ticket sales go to this great organization which is in its 10th year. It was founded by Jessica Seinfeld and it helps families in need — families who have babies who need essentials like strollers, bottles, diapers. You can also make additional donations in increments of $1, $5 and $10,” says Lori Bergamotto, contributing style editor at Lucky Magazine.
While looking for some new duds, shoppers can browse more than 40 designers, including some big names like Elizabeth & James, Rebecca Minkoff and Tracy Reese.
Ariel Gordon is a jewelry designer who came from Los Angeles just to take part in the big shopping event.
"I know I get really excited to get such great deals on great designers, so I’m really honored to be included with such a great lineup of people here and participate in this event," says Gordon.
Bergamotto says there’s a lot to look forward to this season.
"Right now it's all about a neon accessory. We have some great pochette wallets by Clare Vivier. It adds a pop of color into your otherwise drab fall wardrobe. Speaking of your fall wardrobe, it’s all about a tribal print when it comes to clothes, so we have a great dress by Tracy Reese, her plenty line. Super fabulous, super flattering and on trend for fall 2011," says Bergamotto.
