Police were searching Sunday for a man who allegedly tried to rape a woman in Riverside Park in Manhattan on Friday.
The victim was jogging on a path between 122nd and 125th Streets around 6 p.m. Friday, when authorities say a a man grabbed her from behind by the neck, threw her to the ground and tried to rape her.
Other people in the park managed to scare the man off.
The woman was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
Those who spoke to NY1 say the incident is alarming.
"That's definitely very scary. I live in the area and the fact that we jog around here all the time and the fact that it happened at a time where everyone's out that's crazy," said one park goer.
The suspect, seen above in a police sketch, is described as between 35 and 40 years old, 5-feet-9-inches tall and 180 pounds. He was wearing a blue Nike baseball hat and a backpack.
