State Sen. Adriano Espaillat called on the Manhattan District Attorney to investigate a charge of sexual harassment at the MTA Friday.
Espaillat and the Transport Workers Union say the MTA should suspend Earl Byron, the supervisor accused of licking the face of one of his bus drivers in April at the Kingsbridge Bus Depot.
The MTA reassigned the supervisor pending the investigation but Espillat says that's not good enough.
"We must suspend him immediately," he said. "After a month of supposed investigation, I have lost faith in the MTA process."
Espaillat is looking to unseat long-time Harlem Congressman Charles Rangel in the Democratic Primary for a congressional seat in the 13th District.
The TWU hasn’t endorsed anyone in the newly-drawn 13th District.
The MTA says it takes the report of any such incident very seriously but does not make a decision on disciplinary action before an investigation is finished.
